Akaki Zarkua, Georgia
Aka is a journalist experienced in covering complex political and economic development. He is an executive editor of Realpolitika, an online publication focused on international politics for a Georgian audience, where he managed and edited a team of reporters and contributors. He also worked as a Georgia correspondent for Eurasianet. His personal project, a podcast called No Fly Zone, focused on the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Previously, he worked for Tabula Media and NewsOn.Ge and TV Formula. He also coproduced an episode on Georgian protests for The Economist. Aka graduated in Middle Eastern Studies from the Institute of Asia and Africa at the Free University in Georgia. Besides his native Georgian, he speaks English, Russian, and intermediate Ukrainian.
