Kateryna Farbar, Ukraine
Kateryna has more than nine years of experience working as a journalist, producer, and project coordinator specializing in socio-economic issues, labor rights, and human rights. She worked as a freelance journalist but also as Ukraine reporter for openDemocracy Ukraine, where she covered Russia’s full-scale invasion and its impact. Before that, she worked as a local producer for The Guardian, BuzzFeed News, and Fuji Television Network. Kateryna served as a co-editor for Politychna Krytyka, where she edited, translated, and wrote texts. She also led significant initiatives such as the Ukrainian Lesbian History Archive and the “Lezo” lesbian zine project, both funded by prominent European organizations, making her a prominent voice in feminist and LGBTQ+ discourse in Ukraine. Kateryna received her master’s degree in political philosophy from the Université Paris-Sorbonne and is fluent in English, Polish, French, and Russian with her native language being Ukrainian.
