James Landis

James Landis is RFE/RL’s Head of Corporate Security. Landis served as a Supervisory Special Agent with the United States Department of State’s Diplomatic Security Service for 25 years with overseas postings in Colombia, Iraq, Algeria, Yemen, France, and Mexico. For three years he served as the Special Advisor for Security to the Ambassador of the Office of the Coordinator for Reconstruction and Stabilization where he developed and implement security protocols and plans for “Whole of Government” operations in challenging environments and conflict zones to include Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, Haiti, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Prior to joining the Department of State, Landis served four years in the United States Marine Corps and holds a B.A. in History from Emory University.
